I've wanted to read this book for a while now and finally had some extra time this break to read what I wanted. This honestly was one of the best books I've read in a while. It was one of those books that make you think about all the people in your life that have shaped who you are and who you've been blessed to know. There are so many life lessons in here that most tend to forget about in everyday life so it was definitely a book that gets you thinking.
One of my favorite quotes was when the main character Lily was talking to August about her sister May and why the painted their house bright pink and August replies, "You know, some things don’t matter that much, Lily. Like the color of a house. How big is that in the over-all scheme of life? But lifting a person’s heart--- now that matters. The whole problem with people is they know what matters, but they don’t choose it."
That just really got me thinking how there are so many times in life that we don't choose to do what we know we should. It's usually with choices that don't seem that big but really could help someone. Anyways, everyone should read it, it really is great. I haven't seen the movie yet but am excited for when it comes out! Kinda random post but o well haha i don't think anyone is reading this yet anyways!
